A sensory garden is a thoughtfully designed outdoor space that invites people of all abilities to explore nature through the eight senses of sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, balance, body movement, and self-regulation.

Through plants, textures, scents, sounds, movement, and calming spaces, these inclusive gardens create opportunities for learning, play, wellness, and connection with nature.

Using Job Descriptions to Create IEP goals such as a Landscaper/Groundskeeper from Fit4Work

https://fit4workpt.substack.com/p/using-job-descriptions-to-create

In our latest Fit4Work: Community of Practice monthly session, we gathered to tackle the real-world complexities of building robust vocational transition programs for youth with disabilities including aligning IEP goals with genuine community job requirements. We explored Jobs4All, created to help providers know what to work on that meets a student’s vocational aspiration. The job tasks are divided into 3 categories: personal, communication and physical.

How can you use this information?

  1. For a student with one of these job aspirations, have them complete the job description as a checklist.

  2. Share it with a teacher to inform their classroom instruction.
